Bangladesh National Cricket Team Matches – The Tigers is a nickname of the Bangladesh men’s national cricket team that is a part of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. They are a Full Member of the International Cricket team Council (ICC) with Test, One Day International (ODI) and T20I status.
It joined the ICC as an associate member in 1977, participated in six ICC Trophy tournaments but was unworthy up to 1997 when it recorded her first triumph in the year’s ICC Trophy Malaysia. This laid the path of becoming a Test-playing nation which dawned with success in the year 2000. Bangladesh featured in their initial test match in November 2000 against India; Dhaka suffered a 9 wicket defeat, making it the tenth Test cricket nation. To the date, the Bangladesh cricket team has not been able to triumph over any ICC prizes.
Bangladesh National Cricket Team: Giants Killers
In their first game of the 2007 World Cup Bangladesh defeated India by 5 wickets. One victory over Bermuda placed them through to the second round at the expense of India.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka along with Bangladesh have played the 2012 Asia Cup which was held in Bangladesh. Defeats to India and Sri Lanka meant Bangladesh was to meet Pakistan in a final. This was the second time that the team had qualified to the final of a multination Tournament.
In the group stage of the recently concluded 2015 Cricket World Cup Bangladesh beat Afghanistan Australia and Scotland and reached the knockout stage defeating England in the process. The golden run continued for Bangladesh’s when they reached the finals and became the runner-up in Asia Cup 2016 and Asia Cup 2018.
